3.The Mother
Similar to the Banshee of Gaelic folklore, the Caointeach is a female spirit from Scottish folklore that was said to wail when a member in a family was close to death. Varying in appearance, from a young woman to a crouched crone, the Caointeach wore a green mourner's shawl and would wail outside the homes of those near the end. Her eyes red and cheeks wet with ever-streaming tears.
