5/6.The Nails

Also known as a water opposum, the Ahuizotl is a creature from Aztec mythology that was said to live near bodies of water like rivers and lakes, It was said to have had fur that clumped into spikes when wet, and hands at the end of all four of its feet, as well as one more at the end of its tail. It would lie and wait for its victims to get near the water before springing up and grabbing them and drowning them. When its victims were found, they would be missing their nails and teeth, thought to be a delicacy to the creature.
